Ever have those weekends where it is tough to make decisions and you just aren’t sure you are going in the right direction?
I was feeling like this around my business, new products that are coming out, hiring a new personal trainer, and even little things like what should I eat this week while my hubby is backpacking for a whole week and I’m all by myself…
Called my friend who is a coach crying. She was a great listener and asked me this question that made this BIGGEST difference.
She asked, “When was the last time you had goal-free time”?
I said, “Hmmm what does that mean”?
She said, “It is when you do something for yourself that clears your mind”.
We saw that I was in the beginning stage of being overwhelmed which normally leads to getting sick or injured which forces me to take a break and slow down.
Thank goodness I called a friend to talk about what I was experiencing before I repeated that same pattern.
I saw that even though I don’t work on Sundays, do beach day with girlfriends, and church that is not considered “goal-free” time because I am still focusing on other people.
So we began to brainstorm what are some “goal-free” things I have done or could start doing on a weekly or daily basis.
So as soon as I got off the phone I scheduled a facial. Then 2 hours later my hair dresser who I hadn’t seen in 5 months called me to schedule an appointment. Then on Sunday I went for a walk on the beach after I dropped my hubby off for his trip.
We thought of other ideas like acupuncture, massage, or chiropractic work . Hiring a personal trainer to hold me accountable to reaching my fitness goals and having that 1 hour be all about me.
Thanks for reading this LONG email but this is not something that I shared on social media and wanted to share it with you.
I encourage you to chose one “goal-free” activity this week then share with me what you chose to do.
Do you accept my challenge?
